Today we begin Fall break!  There will be no classes for students and teachers next week Monday and Tuesday, October 12th and 13th.

We have completed the first Measure of Academic Progress (MAP) for our Fall session.  I have printed up the Family report and they have been mailed.  The MAP results are being used by the Middle School teachers to help determine how to shape lessons, create groups,  write a goal or goals for the first semester and it is a data point for you and us to let us know how your child is doing and see growth.  Our next MAP testing session will be Mid-January. Results will be sent out the beginning to the middle of February.

Northwest Evaluation Association (NWEA) is an organization that works to provide schools the opportunity to administer MAP and give teachers access to data that is able to be used for teaching.  There is a Family Toolkit on their website as well.  Here is the link: https://www.nwea.org/the-map-suite/family-toolkit/

An email has gone out to EAL and new families to sign up for Parent/Teacher/Student conferences on Knights portal.  There will be another email sent out on Wednesday October 14th for others.  These sign ups are for in-person conferences, if you are unable to come to campus please email me.  Online conferences may or may not happen on November 5 & 6 depending the teachers’ schedules.

Elementary division is allowing students on the playground until 16:00 pm each day.  We will also allow Middle School students to stay on campus by 16:00, but we do require students to leave campus by 16:00 unless they have a sports practice or music lesson.  We are not allowing spectators at events on campus, so students should not be lingering on campus after 16:00.

Middle School began our Social Emotional Learning (SEL) lessons last week.  Most every other week, during skinny block, the Homeroom/Bible class will meet to talk about one topic related to SEL.  Studemts have a challenge to achieve between lessons, which may give you an opportunity to ask your child how they are doing with their SEL challenge.

Have a great weekend!
